Terms and Conditions: Lebenwise Coaching

Welcome to Lebenwise Coaching (operating as "The Motherhood Decision"). By purchasing our programs or using our website, you agree to the following terms.

1. The Services

We provide two distinct types of services focused on the motherhood decision process:

  • The Motherhood Decision: 10-Week Self-Guided Program: A multi-format digital experience including frameworks, exercises, AI-guided sessions, and lifetime access to materials. This program is designed to be self-paced; while materials are delivered over 10 weeks, you have the flexibility to move through them at the speed that feels right for you. We reserve the right to update or modify the content to ensure it remains current and effective.

  • 1:1 Coaching & Advisory: Personalized sessions conducted in real-time. This includes the single session bundled with the Self-Guided program or standalone coaching packages.

2. Not a Substitute for Therapy

Important: Yiqing (“Laura”) Ackermann is a coach and advisor, not a licensed therapist, psychologist, or medical professional. The "Motherhood Decision" program and all coaching sessions are for educational and self-reflection purposes only. They are not a substitute for professional mental health care or medical advice. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please seek professional clinical help immediately.

3. Terms for the 10-Week Self-Guided Program

3.1 Refund Policy: Because the "Motherhood Decision" is a digital program with immediate access to proprietary materials and AI tools, the baseline policy is that all sales are final.

Legal Basis for Digital Content: In accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive and Section 356 (5) of the German Civil Code (BGB), by purchasing this program and requesting immediate access to the digital content, you expressly consent to the commencement of the performance of the contract and acknowledge that you thereby lose your statutory right of withdrawal/refund once the digital delivery has begun (e.g., once the "Day 0" welcome email is sent).

3.2 Discretionary Exception: However, we are committed to your success. If you have engaged fully with the curriculum and feel the methodology has not provided value, you may request a discretionary refund. To be eligible for consideration:

  • You must have completed at least 80% of the program and provide a copy of your completed program materials (e.g. journal entries, reflection logs, and AI chat session scripts) for all weeks completed to date.

  • This allows us to review your process and ensure the framework was applied as intended.

  • Refunds are granted solely at the discretion of Lebenwise Coaching based on this review of engagement.

4. Terms for 1:1 Coaching & Advisory

4.1 Scheduling: Coaching sessions must be scheduled in advance via our designated booking system.

4.2 Cancellation & Rescheduling: We require at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellation or rescheduling. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, or fail to show up for a session, the session will be forfeited and no refund or credit will be issued.

4.3 Session Expiration: The single coaching session included in the 10-Week Program must be used within six (6) months of purchase. Standalone packages do not expire.

4.4 Coaching Refunds: Payments for coaching sessions already conducted are non-refundable. For unused sessions in a standalone package, refunds are subject to a 15% administrative fee.

5. Mutual Respect & Communication

5.1 Support & Boundaries: While we offer email support to help you through the curriculum, this is intended for technical questions or brief clarifications. It is not a substitute for the deep work of 1:1 coaching sessions. We aim to respond to all inquiries within 48 business hours.

5.2 Privacy & Data Security: We deeply respect the sensitive nature of your journey. Any information shared during 1:1 sessions, via email, or within the proprietary AI-guided sessions is kept strictly confidential. We utilize secure, industry-standard platforms to protect your data. Disclosure is only made where required by law or to prevent clear and imminent danger to yourself or others.

5.3 Maintaining a Supportive Environment: To ensure this remains a safe and productive space for everyone, we expect all interactions to be grounded in mutual respect. We reserve the right to discontinue services or revoke access to the program if communication becomes consistently disrespectful or abusive.

6. Payments & Taxes

  • Currency: All prices are in USD.

  • Payment: Payment is due in full at the time of purchase via Stripe.

  • Sales Tax: If you are located in Texas, applicable sales tax (8.25%) will be added at checkout. For all other international and US clients, no additional VAT or sales tax is charged by us.

7. Intellectual Property

The frameworks, digital tools, videos, AI prompts, and email content provided are the intellectual property of Lebenwise Coaching. You are granted a personal, non-transferable license to use this material for your own journey. You may not record, redistribute, sell, or "sub-lease" this content or your session recordings to others.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Neutrality & Outcomes: We provide the tools to help you reach a thoughtful, whole-hearted decision. We hold a neutral, non-judgmental stance and do not advocate for one specific outcome (e.g., motherhood vs. child-free living) over another. We cannot guarantee a specific decision, and by using our services, you agree that Lebenwise Coaching is not liable for any decisions you make or actions you take in your personal life.

8.2 Technical Failures: We are not liable for any delays or failures in performance resulting from technical issues with third-party platforms (e.g., Squarespace, Stripe, MailerLite, or AI service providers). However, your experience is important to us; in the event of a technical disruption, we will make every reasonable effort to resolve the issue or provide an alternative solution as quickly as possible.

9. Governing Law

Lebenwise Coaching is a German sole proprietorship (Einzelunternehmen). These terms are governed by the laws of Germany. However, as the business is managed from Texas, USA, any disputes will first be handled through informal mediation.
